First case to fight Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation - under Dutch law
Greenpeace International has sent a notice of liability to Energy Transfer, accusing the fossil fuel company of abusing the legal system with Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP) tactics. Greenpeace - alongside 500 other organisations - opposes Energy Transfer's Dakota Access oil pipeline. Energy Transfer has responded by launching several lawsuits against Greenpeace, demanding hundreds of millions of dollars.
