Jeanne (72) received hundreds of euros in parking fines – for someone else’s car: ‘You’re shocked when you get a letter like that’

A screw in another car’s license plate landed Jeanne van de Wiel (72), from the Brabant village of Biezenmortel, a string of Amsterdam parking fines. The City knew about the mistake but sent a debt collector after her in 2024 anyway. ‘This is absolutely insane.’
