‘There are fireworks everywhere!’
Every year, over 2,000 students come from abroad to pursue a degree at UU. 1,200 others come on exchange. How do they perceive Dutch end-of-year traditions like making elaborate gifts for each other on Sinterklaas or diving into the cold sea on New Year’s Eve? How do these celebrations differ from the ones back home? Three internationals share their experiences.
