Kübra went from diplomat to refugee to Master’s student at UU
Kübra Kizil (38) used to be a diplomat in Turkey, but her world was turned upside down when she lost her job and was forced to flee with her husband and two kids. They asked for asylum in the Netherlands. But things are looking bright for her now: after a traineeship at the Faculty of Science through the Incluusion Programme, she is now pursuing a Master’s in Intercultural Communication. She’s also been honoured with a grant from the Rosanna Fund for Women. DUB spoke with her about her journey.
