‘European students are not being treated equally’
European students are eligible for a basic grant from DUO if they work at least 32 hours a week. Do students serving on the University Council qualify for this rule? Philosophy, Politics & Economics student Matias Edelstein, who was on the council last year, believes they do. But the District Court Midden-Nederland (Utrecht) ruled against him. “This only discourages international students from running for a seat,” says Matias.
