Watering ban introduced across large part of Amsterdam, in rare step to combat drought

The Amstel, Gooi en Vecht water board is introducing a watering ban, making it illegal to irrigate gardens, pastures and sports fields with ditch or canal water across a large part of Amsterdam. This marks the latest round of measures taken by the regional authority to combat severe drought.
