Jan-Bert Vroege leaves Amsterdam politics: ‘I read in the paper that my seat was gone’

Jan-Bert Vroege is leaving Amsterdam politics after 16 years – with a sharp attack on his own party. In his view, D66 has become too leftist, too submissive, and gave up its executive seat in Amsterdam-Oost without explanation. ‘Parting ways with people is part of politics, but be honest and transparent.’
