Hilversum removes the most tiles in the region

This year, Hilversum once again participated in the NK Tegelwippen (Dutch Tile Removal Championship), the national campaign in which residents and the municipality replace paving stones with greenery. The goal of this initiative is to make gardens, streets, and neighborhoods greener. Hilversum achieved a respectable fifth place in the medium-sized municipality category. Last year, Hilversum was in fifteenth place. Between the end of March and the end of October, a total of 132.274 paving stones were replaced with greenery in our municipality. This is equivalent to almost two football fields.
