After a string of increasingly disappointing duds in the '00s, M. Night Shyamalan roared back into top form with 2016's Split. That's thanks in no small part to James McAvoy's terrifying, scenery-chewing performance as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a seemingly innocuous zoo employee whose mind is home to 23 other alternate personalities. Reigning over all of them is "The Beast," a seemingly superhuman monster who devours human flesh. Kevin and his other selves returned in 2019's Glass. If not a particularly satisfying conclusion to Shyamalan's Unbreakable/Split trilogy, at least it gives McAvoy another chance to bring this horrifying character to life.
